Storage & Backup Solutions

Every file, server, and mailbox backed up, locked, and tested.

We design, run, and test backups for servers, workstations, and cloud apps like Microsoft 365, and give you storage that grows with your data, from a NAS in your office to offsite object storage and long-term archive.

Everything You Run, Backed Up

One plan covers your servers, staff computers, and the cloud apps your business depends on.

  • Windows Server
  • Linux servers
  • VMware and Hyper-V
  • Proxmox VE
  • Windows and macOS
  • Microsoft 365
  • Google Workspace
  • NAS and file shares
  • SQL databases
  • Websites

Five Jobs, One Team

Pick one service or the whole set. Each is scoped and quoted for your business.

Protect: Back up everything that matters

Servers, virtual machines, laptops, and cloud apps, backed up on a schedule that matches how much data you can afford to lose.

Server and Virtual Machine Backup

Image-level backups of physical servers and VMware, Hyper-V, and Proxmox virtual machines, with application-aware copies of databases.

  • Full and incremental image backups
  • Application-aware backups for SQL Server, Active Directory, and Exchange
  • Single-file, folder, or whole-machine restores
  • Backup copies kept on-site and offsite

Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace Backup

Independent backups of mailboxes, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Gmail, and Google Drive, kept outside the vendor so you control recovery.

  • Mail, calendars, contacts, and files
  • SharePoint sites and Teams channel files
  • Point-in-time restores of a single item or a whole account
  • Retention that outlasts deleted users and expired licences

Workstation and Laptop Backup

Automatic backups of staff computers, in the office or on the road, so a lost or failed laptop costs a day, not the work on it.

  • Windows and macOS
  • Backups over any internet connection
  • Encrypted before it leaves the device
  • Self-serve or technician-assisted restores

Store: Storage that grows with you

Fast local storage for daily work and S3-compatible object storage for apps, media, and backup copies.

NAS and On-Site Storage

Network storage sized, built, and installed for your office, with RAID, snapshots, and a backup copy offsite.

  • Synology, TrueNAS, and UniFi storage
  • RAID design and drive health monitoring
  • Hourly snapshots for quick rollbacks
  • User shares and permissions set up

Cloud Object Storage

S3-compatible object storage for applications, website media, and backup targets, with versioning and object lock.

  • S3-compatible buckets and access keys
  • Versioning and object lock
  • Lifecycle rules that move old data to cheaper tiers
  • Encryption at rest and in transit

File Server Migration

Move ageing file servers and shared drives to a NAS, SharePoint, or cloud storage, with permissions and folder structure kept intact.

  • Data audit and clean-up plan
  • Permission mapping
  • Staged copy with a final cutover
  • Old hardware wiped and recycled

Archive: Keep it for years, cheaply

Long-term retention for records you must keep but rarely open, with retention rules set to your policy.

Long-Term Archive

Low-cost cold storage for records you must keep for years: finished projects, closed files, and old backup sets.

  • Archive tiers for rarely opened data
  • Retention periods set to your policy
  • Write-once storage for records that must not change
  • Documented retrieval process

Immutable Backup Copies

Backup copies locked for a set number of days so nobody can change or delete them, not ransomware and not a stolen admin account.

  • Object lock on offsite copies
  • Separate credentials for the backup system
  • Multi-factor sign-in for backup consoles
  • Alerts on unusual deletions

Recover: Get back to work fast

Recovery plans with agreed targets, from a single deleted file to a full site rebuild.

Disaster Recovery Planning

A written plan that says what comes back first, how long it may take, and who does what, with recovery time and data loss targets agreed in advance.

  • Recovery time and recovery point targets per system
  • Step-by-step runbooks
  • Contact tree and decision owners
  • Yearly plan review

Recovery to Standby Servers

When your own hardware is gone, we restore critical systems to Sheernox cloud or dedicated servers so work can continue while you rebuild.

  • Pre-planned recovery targets
  • Network and access steps documented
  • Failback once your site is ready
  • Hands-on help during the incident

Manage: Watched, tested, reported

We watch every job, fix failures, run test restores, and send you a plain-language report.

Monitoring and Test Restores

We check every job, fix failed backups before they matter, and restore real data on a schedule to prove it works.

  • Daily job checks and failure follow-up
  • Regular test restores
  • Capacity and growth tracking
  • Plain-language reports

Backup Health Check

A one-time review of what you already have: what is covered, what is missing, and what to fix first.

  • Inventory of systems and data
  • Gap list against the 3-2-1-1-0 rule
  • Ransomware exposure review
  • Prioritized recommendations

Built on the 3-2-1-1-0 Rule

The standard backup professionals use, applied to every plan we design.

  1. 3 Copies

Your live data plus two backup copies, so one failure never leaves you with nothing.

  2. 2 Media

Copies on two kinds of storage, such as a local NAS and cloud object storage.

  3. 1 Offsite

One copy in a different building, far enough away that a fire or flood cannot reach it.

  4. 1 Immutable

One copy locked so it cannot be changed or deleted, even with an admin password.

  5. 0 Errors

Zero errors, proven by test restores rather than a green tick in a dashboard.

How We Get You Covered

Every engagement follows the same four steps, whether it is one laptop or a whole office.

  1. Assess

We list your systems and data, how much change happens each day, and how long you can be down.

  2. Design

You get a written plan: what is backed up, how often, where copies live, and how long they are kept.

  3. Deploy

We install and configure the backups and storage, then run the first full backup and a test restore.

  4. Manage

We watch every job, fix failures, run regular test restores, and report back in plain language.

Three Ways to Start

Every setup is different, so we scope and quote each one after a short call.

Questions We Hear Often

Doesn't Microsoft 365 already back up my data?

Microsoft and Google keep their services running, but deleted items only stay recoverable for a limited time, and a deleted user or a ransomware sync can remove data for good. An independent backup keeps your own copy under your own retention rules.

Is RAID or a NAS a backup?

No. RAID keeps a server running when a drive fails, but it copies deletions, corruption, and ransomware instantly. A NAS is a good first copy; we pair it with an offsite, locked copy.

Can ransomware reach my backups?

Backups that sit on the same network with the same passwords often get encrypted too. We keep at least one copy offsite and locked for a set number of days, with separate credentials and multi-factor sign-in.

How do you know the backups work?

We check every job, follow up on failures, and restore real data on a regular schedule. You get the results in writing.

Where is my data stored?

We agree storage locations with you during design, and keep copies in Canada when your data needs to stay here.

Can you work with the backup system we already have?

Yes. We can take over monitoring and testing of an existing setup, add an offsite or immutable copy, or replace it if it no longer fits.

How is this priced?

Every setup is different, so we quote after a short call based on the systems, data size, and retention you need. Contact us for a quote.
